About Us:

The Woodfield Foundation is a not-for-profit with a mission to inspire the exploration of pathways to health, wellness and joy.

Our recipients are families who are experiencing a health challenge of one of its members, and could benefit from an experience in nature together and the programming that we provide them.

Funding is obtained from direct donations, corporate sponsorships, grants and paid retreat groups with all profits going to support families in need.

The Woodfield Campus is situated on a 500-acre property in the Muskoka Lakes area of Ontario, set in a lush valley surrounded by forests, pastures, water, wildlife and the rock formations of the Canadian Shield. Lodges, yurts and gathering spaces provide accommodations, amenities and facilitates for those who attend this beautiful nature retreat.

Available Positions


Job Title: Retreat Leader

Position Type: Full Time, May - October

Start Date: May 13th, 2019

About the Position:

The Retreat Team Leader is responsible for leading a team of Retreat Coordinators to facilitate exceptional guest experiences at the Woodfield Campus by ensuring our guests feel welcomed, safe and supported during their visit. The position will directly report to the Campus Director and will work closely with the Wellness Coordinator and Kids Program Coordinators to ensure guests have an exceptional experience during their time at Woodfield. Primarily you’ll be directly providing support for our guests to attend and participate in programmed activities, ensure lodgings are maintained, and assist with the preparation and service of meals.

Scope of Work:

  • Represent Woodfield Foundation in a positive manner, ensuring all guests receive warm, welcoming and attentive hospitality throughout their stay

  • Welcome guests to the Woodfield Campus helping with check-in and familiarizing guests with their accommodations

  • Lead group Orientation for newly arrived guests
    Responsible for ensuring all meals are delivered/ served at the programmed times and specific locations

  • Provide guests with assistance & information they require to attend Woodfield programmed activities and or facilities throughout the campus

  • Ensure lodges are clean and maintained during guest visits.

  • You may be required to lead specific programmed activities as communicated and trained by the Wellness Coordinator and or Campus Director

  • Ensure health, safety and well being of fellow staff and guests

  • Must be able to prepare and light an outdoor bonfire and indoor fire following safety protocols

  • Close campus down at night time and ensure all procedures have been followed

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Campus Director

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post Secondary Education

  • Standard First Aid CPR/AED Certification

  • Hospitality Experience preferred



Job Title: Assistant Retreat Leader

Position Type: Full Time, July - August

Start Date: July 2nd, 2019

About the Position:

The Retreat Coordinator is responsible for ensuring our guests feel welcomed, safe and supported during their visit to the Woodfield campus. The position will work as part of a team, directly reporting to the Retreat Leader and Campus Director. Primarily you’ll be assisting in providing support for our guests to attend and participate in programmed activities, ensure lodgings are maintained, and assist with preparation of and service of meals.

Scope of Work:

  • Represent Woodfield Foundation in a positive manner, ensuring all guests receive warm, welcoming and attentive hospitality throughout their stay

  • Assist in welcoming guests to the Woodfield Campus helping with check-in and familiarizing guests with their accommodations

  • Responsible for ensuring all meals are delivered/ served at the programmed times and specific locations

  • Provide guests with the assistance & information they require to attend Woodfield programmed activities and or facilities throughout the campus

  • Assistance with general cleaning, restocking and maintenance work is required

  • When necessary provide assistance to Retreat Leaders during programmed activities

  • Ensure health, safety and well being of fellow staff and guests

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Campus Director

Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post Secondary Education

  • Standard First Aid CPR/AED Certification preferred

  • Hospitality Experience preferred


Job Title: Kids Programming Coordinator

Position Type: Full Time, July - September

Start Date: July 2nd, 2019

About the Position:

The Kid's Programming Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing and delivering daily activities for approximately 5-10 children. They will motivate children through various games and exercises while providing a safe and secure environment.

Scope of Work:

  • Work with the Campus Director and team to plan and schedule daily activities

  • Provide care and supervision of children visiting Woodfield

  • Provide feedback to parents, program leaders and team on the participation and enjoyment of the children

  • Maintain a safe and secure environment for kids, enforce safety rules and regulations, and adhere to all policies and procedures

  • Support the Woodfield team as needed to ensure a great experience for Woodfield guests


Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • Post Secondary Education

  • Standard First Aid CPR & AED Certification

  • Previous Hospitality Experience preferred 


Job Title: Housekeeper

Position Type: Full Time, May - October

Start Date: May 13th, 2019

About the Position:

The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring lodgings are cleaned, organized and ready for our guests. The position will work closely with the Retreat Leader and Facilities Manager. Primarily this person will ensure our lodgings are ready for our guests and maintained during their visit.


Scope of Work:

  • Represent Woodfield Foundation in a positive manner, ensuring all guests receive warm, welcoming and attentive hospitality throughout their stay

  • Assist in welcoming guests to the Woodfield Campus helping with check-in and familiarizing guests with their accommodations

  • Responsible for ensuring all lodgings and common areas (yurts, assembly hall, office) are cleaned and prepared for guests prior to arrival.

  • Ensure that lodges are maintained, restocked, organized throughout the duration of a guest visit to the Woodfield campus.                                                                                                                    

  • Perform other duties as assigned by Campus Director



Desired Qualifications & Skills:

  • High School Completion

  • Previous Housekeeping experience

  • Standard First Aid CPR/AED Certification preferred
